i kinda agree. If you NEVER have a problem in the future with it and it works great then you'll be happy and have had a good deal for the 3-7 years of use (average guestimated marine electronics lifespan). If it starts to have issues or dies all together anytime less than 2 years then it's money not well spent IMO as there will be no service, very limited parts, and no company to help you. If Northstar does go belly up or is discontinued what good is a warranty?
