Hmmmm.... sounds like a personal problem!!

I've never had this problem on my 24hd. My cables are nce and tight and tidy, I'm just guessing 100% of course, but I would guess it's a loose cable somewhere... just seems like it.

PS- Nowwhere does it say in the Garmn manual opening the dome voids the warranty. In fact, there's a not on the install section about how to open it if you need to install longer bolts or something...

As others have mentioned, all my previous domes have been opened many a time. But I've never opened the Garmin, YET!! Would love to see what this one looks like. Me likey the insides!!

Also, if it were the network cable, I wouldn't expect it to power cycle itself. I've unplugged and replugged the net cable while running and it didn't restart.

It will do the full 70 second countdown when it happens. That looks like a power issue to me.
Have you guys checked for any system messages on your Chartplotter for any type of low voltage alarms? on the 3210 you can go to the main menu and check the "Messages" and you can also set a low voltage Alarm for say 11 volts. On the 4000/5000 systems you can also set an alarm and go to "Configure, System, System Info, and Event Log" to see any abnormal stuff. This may give you an idea if you have an intermittent power problem on the boat.

Default .

I appreciate all of the input here!

I would just like to restate that this ONLY happens first thing in the morning, and it will NEVER happen again. It will run all day without a hickup.

Yes I did cut and recrimp the network cable. I guess I will plug in another one and see if that eliminates the prob.

I did also cut off the Garmin fuse holder (it said not to, but I disregarded that ) and went straight to the fuse block. It was some kind of time delay or something wierd kind of fuse . . .

Thanks people!

Sigh. Yes, I've checked, on both displays and there are no unusual codes.

We seem to have related, but different issues. Just because only a few people see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

My two displays will get the service lost message at the same time. They are a different feed from the radar array. The array will do a full power recycle

That leads me to assume its a power issue, most likely INSIDE the array. Ill have to wait until I reopen the boat to look further.

If I do open the array, ill take pics for the curious. .

For me, it's on two different displays. So I know it's not the connection to the mfd.
Same here... Both 3210's will loose it at the same time.

Also, it is easy to open the unit. I did it on my original 18HD that was DOA from the factory. There was no problem with warranty coverage. I don't think there is anything user serviceable inside that will help with this problem anyway.
