I told some people awhile back i would post some pics of my Garmin 3210/GSD22 and Airmar B164 20* tilted while at speed. I never got this kind of resolution out of my transom mount because I couldnt turn my gain up high enough because of distortion. So if you post, please post your GAIN settings also.
I hadnt seen a post with pics of these(except the new 1 started in boating w/ chartplotter pics, awesome thread) and we really should have 1 up so ppl can know when theyre bottom equipment is working properly and what it should look like. So feel free to add your pics of bottom while underway.
These are all relatively shallow, because even at 50 miles out here, you are only in 120'.
This pic is running over a ledge with lots of bait on it. Notice i have NOT turned off surface noise as has been suggested(this is GSD22 update ver 2.9, the newest), mine doesnt have a prob unless i am missing something? Also the gain is on auto(and at nearly 50%) i can manually turn it up and the pics look good to about 70%. Notice the SOG(speed over ground) at around 32mph. This pic would of been even better if my depth was set to 20', instead of 30'.
This is in 6' of water doing 32mph, gain on auto at 25% and depth setting is correct.
This is what sets of waves look like as i go over them at speed. Notice breaks, but still holding bottom well.
Here is 1 going alittle faster. I have seen up to 45mph and read bottom like this.
