I think that I saw a Garmin 3210 from BOE for $1100. You would still need to add the transducer and sonar module.

Probably just a bad antenna...they do go bad especially if around a radar.

BOE is one of the best marine electronics suppliers I have had the pleasure of dealing with. They are a board sponser here with an impecible record. Great prices and great service. Jim is the man!

Your gpsmap 220 will work with any passive (i.e., unpowered) antenna. If you have the original antenna for this unit, and it's been working all along, I suspect you have a bad connection somewhere. The antenna is passive and not likely to "go bad." The gps itself is rugged. If it powers up and displays charts, just won't pick up the sat's I'd suspect the antenna connection and beg/borrow some one else's antenna to hook it up for testing. I would not throw it away too quickly. On the other hand, the newer units have much faster redraw rates. The 210/215/220/225 series are too slow on the chart redraw for a boat moving over 10 knots (IMHO). It's old technology, so probably time to upgrade. keep the old unit for a backup.

If shopping, check out getfeetwet.com as well. Lots of debundled and reman garmin stuff. the debundled 4208 is $100 less than at BOE for example. No affiliation with either, but have bought a bunch of stuff from getfeetwet.com. Have not dealt with BOE.
