Default transducer mount

This is the mount I have that my M260 is mounted on. The damn thing broke today while I was setting up the TR 1 AP. I guess 6 yrs on the plastic tube part is all I can expect. I notice that I was in 17 ft of water when I knew it was more like 30, I looked back and the transducer was kicked up. Went to do a reset back in the bracket and the plastic pipe it mounts to was cracked 3/4 of the way into. Any suggestions on another way to mount this transducer. A wet box type device or ??? I really don't want to buy another 1KW transducer any suggestion would be a lot of help.

Manufacturer: RAYMARINE
Manufacturer Part No: E66047

How about putting in a metal tube in place of the plastic tube. Just make it the same as the plastic tube and mount it back in that bracket.

+1....except you may need to thread the pipe into a male adapter so that no metal touches the ducer. I mean....if it makes a difference. Strength of the metal pipe with plastic at the ducer.
