Default *****BOE Marine-customer service*****

First off let me say I have no affiliation with the company, I am just a customer.

I spoke to Jim and he helped me with the purchase of a McMurdo Cat II G5 Smartfind Plus EPIRB. He was very helpful and I was comfortable with his advice so I went ahead with the purchase over the phone. I paid a bit extra for 2nd day delivery so that it would show up on Thursday or Friday for a weekend offshore trip. End of the day Friday, no package. Spoke to Jim and he advised me that this package is drop shipped from McMurdo directly to me, there was a mistake and the package was shipped ground and would not arrive until Monday. I told him I was taking a trip over the weekend and that was the reason I paid for the 2nd day shipping...His response was "Let me call you right back"

He called me back to tell me he had located one on the West Coast (it was already after 5:00 on east coast at this point) and it would be drop shipped to me for Saturday delivery. I told him he was welcome to take my credit card info for the second one and then refund me for the first on when it arrives back to location of origin...He said "Nah, dont worry about it, just send it back"

By 10:00 am today (Saturday) I already had package in hand and EPIRB registered.

You can shop for every last dollar if you want but sometimes its not all about price...THANK YOU JIM!!!!!!!

Glad you got your epirb in time for your trip. I have had several pleasant experiences with BOE and have never heard anyone complain about them. They should be everyone's "go to" shop for electronics and other boating accessories.

This is a fundamental of our core culture at BOE. Go to any length within reason to not delay a customer's time on the water. I'm glad I was able to recover from the shipping problem and get you an epirb in time. Thank you very much for the kind words.

I too have one of those Jim/BOE stories...

I had a boat sold, with the new owner taking a sea trial. It turned out he really wanted the boat for a weekend trip in about two days after the sea trial. I had an order in to Jim for a compass. Same deal, the original was to be drop shipped from the factory. Jim intervened, had one to me in two days and the new owner was able to make his trip as planned. I was never charged for the extra shipping, He was able to cancel the original order for the drop ship.

You can bet when we needed to add the Mcmurdo PLB to our ditch bag, it was one we bought from Jim...

I have the pleasure of running an Intrepid rigged through BOE from front to back.
I have been eternally spoiled in the realm of customer service forever. Nothing compares. Its actually unfair to measure other companies against these guys.
All of my clients in need are referred to BOE.
