But that's where the problem is.
There should be a plus and minus terminal on each speaker. Or color codes. If not, set them side by side and mark the right (or left) terminal of each speaker with a marking pen. The same one on each speaker.
Check the wires from the wiring harness on the stereo. Depending on the type of wires used, there will be a way to identify the "Plus" or "Minus" (ground) wire. It could be color, it could be a ridge on one side of the insulation, or printing on one side of the insulation. It doesn't matter, but all the wires need to be connected the same way.
So, the grounded wires at the stereo connect to the "-" or unmarked terminal on the speaker and the "left" and "right" wires from the stereo connect to the "+" or marked terminals on the speakers.
If the speakers are from different manufacturers or do not match, that's another issue that I won't get into unless it's needed.
