You are very lucky! My brother in law sent a HDS7 back for repair 3 months ago and it has still not been returned. They were going to be sending him a new unit a month ago. The boat is now out of the water for the winter. He will be selling a brand new unit on Ebay as soon as Lowrance finally ships the unit.

Does Lowrance read these posts?
They wanted me to send my HDS-10 unit in to them when I was having trouble getting my Navionics P+ chip to work. I refused as it was in the middle of the Tuna season, and I didn't want to be without my HDS. The October update fixed my problem, so happy now. I am glad I refused to ship my HDS unit back to them. I would be pissed!

By the way, I have called Lowrance about a half dozen times to try and figure out why the Navionics chart did not work, I usually got through within minutes. I did spend over 30-minutes on the phone with their tech support several times though. It was a mixture of "hold" and waiting while the tech asked someone else a question to try to help me.

Lowrance never told me there was an update pending. I read it here on THT. Glad I did not send my unit to them.

I find that rather typical though. Bad new travels fast and for some morbid reason, it's fodder for many.
