Default Another DSM 300 Problem....Need Help!

My system is now 4 years old and has very few problems. ( 2 E-80s, DSM 300, Radar, Hub, Pilot) The other day my sonar screen locked up a few minutes into a trip. I powered everything down for a minute, then powered back up and it was fine for the rest of the day...about 5-6 hours. Today I started everything up and it all worked for about 5 hours and then it locked up a gain. The GPS and radar still work fine. The light on the DSM flashed green every few seconds. I powered everything down again and then back up and it worked for a few minutes and then froze up again. Any ideas guys????

BTW.....I am running the latest software on the MFDs and the DSM and have been doing so for a few months....

The green flashing light means that the DSM300 is working OK. Try unplugging the power cable at the DSM and then plug it back in. This will reboot the unit.

Did you update with the latest update, DSM 4.11? Note that you have to cycle the power when you do this. I had to pull the power plug at the DSM box to do this. Here's the Tech Bulletin https://www.raymarine.com/submittedf...0G_v4%2011.pdf

Yes and yes.....Did the software upgrade a month or so ago and it worked fine for 3-4 trips before this problem started....

Ok, so I reinstall the DSM software again and for about an hour at the dock the sonar seems to be working again. Obviously I need to take it out for a while to really see....I am pretty good with computers, hardware and software.......Only problem is now I seemed to have lost the ability to control my autopilot from my MFDs.......The pilot works fine if I use the 8001 display and the track feature works but the screens that used to pop up on the MFDs are gone and the pilot icon on the data bars have the red X on them........So.................Now what?????

If you don't get a workable answer here, go to Ray's website and log in. Go to support and fill in the contact Ray form. If you send that Monday, you will have their first answer on Tuesday. From that point on you can reply directly using their email. That have been good at helping me trouble shoot.

I was having the same issue up until a couple of weeks ago. Mine was locking up every 30-45 seconds for the first hour then getting better through the day. I pulled the fuse on my board, cleaned it with electronics cleaner from CRC and put it back in. No problems at all on my last 2 trips. Doesn't seem like a logical fix, but I hear these things are real sensitive to voltage so it could of had something to do with it.
