HDS....Platinum+ question - The Hull Truth

Has anyone got the Navigation Extension line to work with the Platinum +?

The little line that extends out a predetermined distance and points in the direction the boat is going.

Mine works ok with the insight but not with the navionics card.

I will have to try mine. I had it "on" and I am pritty sure I had the P+ chip in at the time. I turned it off because it was the same color as my track lines and it was getting confusing. At the time, I didn't have time to figure out how to change track colors so I hjust turned it off, and I forgot about it.

Surfcaster51; Sorry for the delayed reply. I checked and re checked today and the extension does not work with the P+. I have a feeling it is related to the upside down chart info when in heading up mode.

Thanks Capt, I find that feature to be extreamly useful especially navigating at night.

The way Navionics bragged about the Platinum plus as being the next best thing since sliced bread you would think they could get the basic features to work before they sold the things at a premium price.

I do not think this has anything to do with the charts, even though it may seem that way. Much more likely to be a bug in the displays software.

It could very well be an issue on the Lowrance end. The bottom line is it does not work the way it was intended to. Navionics markets and sells the charts to work with Lowrance and they don't

Again, it is probably completely of out of Navionics hands. I have a Ray unit with Plat+, and I have no such feature (that I know of).

I have sent the issue to Lowrance and expect to get a reply within the next few days. I have takled to Lowrance AND Navionice recently about P+ issues. There are infact display issues that Lowrance has to work out, and they are doing that. I suspect that this issue is either known, or it will be on the list.
