Random Quote: Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.
expensive but really powerful - m600/4
less power less money - m4500
JL M4500 (4 ch amp) $ 399.95 JL MHD 600/4 (4 ch HD amp) $ 899.95
MHD 600/4 has a smaller footprint and draws less battery while delivering good power. Its more expensive, but these features make it ideal especially for a smaller boat.

of course it's not $899 but that is suggested retail..and I post here for information only. I'll never try and sell stuff - as we don't do web sales...Go to BOE first...so I publish sugg retails only for reference...but be careful of the web....
I don't car what onlinecarstereo.com says about a "warranty" with the JL amp: you aren't getting it. When they ship stuff to you they have a note on the front box that says in case of warranty it has to be shipped back in the same condition it was in when you originally got it. I'm sure there are some fine print to their "warranty"... just be careful.
I just did a quick search, and onlinecarstereo.com seems to be the cheapest for the M4500 amp. I have an M4500 powering 2 7.7 inch JL speakers, separate tweeters, and a 10 inch JL marine subwoofer. Hits plenty hard.

OK, then.....what other suggested places to purchase the JL audio products are out there and are reasonable? My problem is that depending on the items you purchase, that site can save you up to $800.00. Say you get a pair of 7.7; a pair of 10' woofers; 6.5; and the MHD600 and the MHD 700----you could save up to $800 from say a local shop that sells them and scharges you sales tax. Also, doesn't JL audio back their products too. I don't have a problem shipping directly to the Mfg. for a warranty item......what's the problem here?
JL wont warranty them. Its not just a dealer thing. They do it to protect their price and the dealers that sell their product. Not to mention when purchasing off the internet it might not even be JL stuff just looks like it.

Thanks for your comments - but I'm not sure what to believe. If an online reputable vendor sells the stuff and provides a warranty of a year - and when you get it it comes in the same exact box as the local store down the street from your home and it looks like, smells like, and plays like JL audio - what else is the difference. I can see what your saying if the seller is like ebay and the item is coming from Tokyo and the vendor has no webpage and when you get it the label is handwritten "JL Audio"....but c'mon I have bought stuff from say BOE - which is an online vendor that sells for much cheaper then my local West Marine - what gives?
I can tell you that a legit dealer of JL will not match the price onlinecarstereo.com has listed on that HD amp or many of their other products. It just isn't worth it. $479 for an $800 amp... just not worth the hassle. They are literally selling this things only a few dollars over what a legit dealer pays for them.

While your online shopping you may want to pick-out a new digital camera. That picture in your postings looks like it was taken from the bottom of a coke bottle.
Sorry, couldn't resist
I am actually in the same state as you, ready to pull the trigger on some JL gear for my new Contender. Still undecided on Subs or not as that will need a larger or additional amp. PM me if you want talk approaches.
A few weeks ago you could have picked up this stuff directly from JL for damn near nothing. I can tell you I called my JL rep and was furious with them over the deal they had on their site. You could get an M4500 and 2 pairs of 770s for I think $900. That's basically full retail on the speakers and a free amp. Don't remember the exact deals but it was nuts. I'm pretty sure they got rid of this deal because so many dealers called in complaining.
