Default lost depth finder connection - garmin 3210

ermmm... don't realy know where to start looking so hoping for some guidance pls?

somehow the depth finder no longer reads through the garmin.

i did notice at start up that the depth finder no longer shows as a connected device. has a cable been pulled or sumtin? where should i start?

as always any help much appreciated

1. check network cables, be sure ethernet plugs at the sounder, the port expander and the display are all solid.
2. check power to the sounder module. Is it on it's own circuit? check the breaker or inline fuse.
3. Check power to the port expander. are the lights flashing at the connections?
4. run an ethernet cable directly from the sounder to the display. (note, you cannot use a regular home computer ethernet cable-garmin network uses a crossover cable).
5. If none of that works, then you might have a dead sounder unit. Call Garmin.

Bouy Scout is on track---try his ideas first, BUT--

I would consider a sw update too. You would be suprised the weird issues that a new sw update can fix.....
