very nice unit
requires wide hole
upgrade internal gold charts to platinum for add'l map features
mount exterior antenna for redundancy, but interior ant works well.
screen is about the best in the industry, all glass
DSM sounder and ducer has great FF ability
make sure you are running most recent software upgrade
only networks two screens

Default C120w

My experience is limited to the internal GPS chart plotter, the DSM300 sounder, a video cam, and engine data interface with twin Yamaha outboards. My take after one fishing season: the GPS is flawless and I wouldn't bother with an external antenna, since I carry a 3G iPhone with GPS and Navionics Marine chart software for a backup. The video camera (I just hooked up my battery powered camcorder) function is pretty trick, but I have yet to find a "can't live without" use for it. Mostly, I've mounted it up on the tower to watch my trolling pattern. The engine data through NMEA2000 is absolutely outstanding, with a variety of data options to display. I like the hourly fuel consumption, cooling water pressure, oil pressure, and alternator output readings. The sounder module is outstanding when it doesn't "freeze" or otherwise act up. It is definitely defective and will be returned with hopes that its function can be improved. There are many others who have reported this problem with the DSM300. I'll stick with the system despite the few "bugs" and add radar soon.

I have used the c140 wide for this entire season and it has been excellent. The screen definition can't be beat. It is in a cabin and the built in GPS receiver works like a charm. I have not had 1 problem with it on my charter boat in 600 hrs.(Engine hours, but the unit has a load more hours since it runs when the engine doesnt and probably has 1200+ hrs on the c wide) and I don't think you can beat it. It will also let you network 2 units if you decide to do so in the future. I have a B 260 1kw transducer on it and the picture is terrific .
