Default Garmin 478 owners - Quick question

Can I take a garmin data card like this:
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=685

and download the numbers out of my garmin 2210 and load them on the Garmin 478 with out having to go through my computer??

Going on a buddies boat and would like to take my numbers. Don't want to have to carry laptop. I thought you could but I can not find it in the owners manual how to.

I know there are some garmin experts out there. Please help out!

Thanks!

(EDIT: Sorry misread your post... taking the 478 is what you wanna do... So you probably have to use mapsource. Sorry..)

Dont hold me to it but I recall having to use mapsource on the pc to do anything with those damn things. I can't lay my hands on mine right now (I think its in our tender) but we have 4 different garmin units and share bottom numbers on them all by using mapsource, pc interface cables, etc, cards, etc...

How about just taking your 478 with you? Its got an internal antenna right? Charge the battery or bring the cig lighter plug if you've got one. The battery does last forever, just set the backlighting timeout and brightness down.

Good luck!

Yes, you can save waypoints and routes between two Garmins that use the same cartridge. You do not have to pass the data thru mapsource.
