Default Raymarine C70 problem

I have a Raymarine C70 GPS/radar system, wired directly to a battery. It all worked perfectly until I took the boat to the shop for repair of the shifter interrupt switch and lower shift cable. When I got the boat back, I took the cover off the C70 because in the past I have found it "on" after electrical interruptions, such as switching batteries on and off. The unit was "on", displaying the Raymarine logo page. But unlike in the past, the power button has no affect. The screen stays on for about 10 seconds, goes off for about 3 seconds, then comes back on, all on its own. No other button seems to affect it. The only way I can turn it off is to disconnect the power cord. I've checked battery connections, thinking perhaps a ground wire came loose during the shop work, but they all seem okay. Any suggestions?

First, I hope that you have downloaded your waypoints to a CF card because if you have not, you will lose any that are on the unit when you perform this reset. If you are OK with that, here's the way to fix it. Let the unit come on and do the cycle thing. When it goes blank as it reboots, push and hold the farthest left soft key, the one nearest the red power button. It will say "factory reset" and count down. Hold the soft key in until the unit beeps, then release it. That should solve the problem, but if it does not, contact Raymarine at 1-800-539-5539 and they will help. It would also be a great idea to put a abattery switch between the electronics and the battery so it can be shut down easily.

Check all of the buttons on the face of the C-70 to see if one or more is depressed / stuck.
