Default DSC Display

Will Raymarine offer DSC location on the MFD when someone calls from your "buddy list" or a distress DSC on the VHF? I have asked RM this but don't expect to get an answer. It seems the VHF NMEA 0183 output could be connected to the MFD NMEA 0183 input and the information would be available for a display. Other MFDs have this capability I believe, seems like just a software issue. Anyone know more about this?

My garmins do, and I believe all the recent Ray stuff will too.

Yes it sure does. A window pops up when someone calls you and it shows you who and where they are. It also asks you if you would like to put a way point at that location. After you clear that window the info stays in a log also an the MFD....Obviously you need to have two way communication set up between the MFD and the radio for all of this to work.

Yes, as long as the RM unit is a C series or better. The older RL series did not do it. RM was one of the first to add this feature.

Didn't the Garmin 182 come out before the C series?
