Default Handheld vhf's

I'm contemplating a handheld vhf and have narrowed my choices to the ICOM m3-a for 99.99 after rebate and the standard horizon hx260s for 139.99 after rebate. The standard seems to be alot better radio for just a little more money.
The standard is waterproof for 30 mins at 3' while the Icom is water resistant. Both come with ni-cad batteries and chargers.... I guess what I would like to know is possibly some first hand info from someone who has either
I'm leaning towards the Standard because I put an Icom 402s with a Galaxy 5225 ant. on the boat this past spring and I've been less than impressed with the output of this HIGH POWERED radio. It's mounted right beside an APELCO 5160 with a 40.00 Centenial (sp) ant. and my "radio checks" consistantly(sp) say my "secondary" radio sounds stronger .Well I'm ramblin' now so I'll stop
