I have the ca54 and absoultly love the machine. I had the furuno nav-net prior to this unit and thinks they are both great units. But i Have to say the simrad has some great features the furuno does not. Buy the simrad and you will not be diapointed.

CA54 BIG BOY!!. Man, if I had the $$$$, that would be in my boat. I'd probably have to build an entire new dash, but that is one AWESOME machine

I have a CE42 in my boat with a remote display up on the flybridge. I really like it. There stuff is really well built and tested. Customer service has also been very good with software upgrades and questions. Great sonar. I have their combi transducer also.

I have there combi-c ducer in my boat which I had recesed into the hull when it was being built this winter and I run a 33 knot cruise and never loose bottom> i was cuising out last weekend running at 33.1 kots and had to stop and fish because my sonor was lite up like a christmas tree. The fish on the sonar were fluke on the bottom and i ended up catching us dinner. I know very few units that can hold bottom and show targets with a boat running that fast. The unit is great and the support I also think is top notch, They have tech offices all over the country and depending what time it is someone, somewhere has been there to help me learn this new beast. I was going to go back with the navnet, but wanted a larger screen then they had And I kow furuno has one but I think the Image quialty and the price just were not there yet. I saw this unit at the Atlantic city boat show and fell in love with it. The guys at Topaz also liked it so much they are instaling the same exact setup on the demo 40 topaz they are building right now. When I mean exact I mean everything from units to autopilots to radio and antenna. I asked since I did all the research for them if I was gonig to get a check for being a consultant. I hope all this helps and if your ever in jersey, give me a ring and I will be glad to show how well the unit works.

I had a used CP32 that was very nice. It came with the boat. Several of the buttons on the keypad were not functioning properly and Simrad replaced the keypad for me (not the original owner, and not under warranty) for chump change and shipping. I don't recall the exact amount, but the whole repair w/ shipping was under $50.00. Very nice company to do business with. The machine was very nice too.

I'm not sure if I should start a new thread for this, but since the title is Simrad, I'll try here first.

I have a Simrad CE32 that I bought new in 2000, and took with me to N.C. to pick up a boat. (did a temp install for the trip north). Since that time, it has been in the closet. Never installed the transducer; that's still in the box. So, my question is, now that I am ready to float the boat, should I see if Simrad will "update" this CE32 to whatever degree they can/will, or should I put it on the classifieds and get something new. I don't think Simrad will take it in trade for a CE33. How/where would I contact them??? Thanks for any help here.

On my dad's (seahawg's) boat has a AP11 works great. At first he wasn't planing on getting it but was convinced to now it's like we couldn't live without it. Only promblem ever had was the little bar that tells it where the engine is pointed fell out so the boat satarted to do doughnuts in the ocean while blinking FAIL. Luckly there wasn't anything around to hit but it did scare the crap out of us.

I am considering the ca 54 on my new regulator 26, It is an open boat. I know the ca44 has sunview technology and can be seen on an open boat. The ca54 does not have the same technology. I was interested to see if anyone has this unit on an open boat?
