Default Raymarine C80 Question

I just installed my C80 over the weekend. I notice that the Time setting is set to UTC. I change my local offset to
-5 but the time remains the same. In the book it shows a menu option to choose local or UTC time, but that option is not offered on my Unit. Anyone know the trick to getting the time set right?

I have mine set to -5 (or -4 for DST) and it works fine. Just make sure you highlight the number and hit the ok button if I recall.

Redemption: I like it a lot so far. I haven't gotten much chance to really use it yet. I hope to get out on the water with it this weekend. I still have to install the ducer.

East Coast: That's what I did too but it doesn't change the time, no matter what I set it for. I tried setting it for different values + and - but the time never changed. It doesn't seem to matter what I set it for, it's always on UTC for some reason. It's not a huge problem, it just bothers me that I can't get it to work right!!

When you say it's on utc, where are you looking. It will keep utc time on the gps status screen, but when you look at the local time on the databar it should read local time.

Ok you may have solved it for me then. So on the GPS status screen it always shows time and date in UTC?? That would explain why I can't get it to change!!! It never occurred to me to look on the databar. I will check that out this afternoon....thanks!! ..

I thought it should read local on the gps status screen as well, but in speaking with a Raymarine Rep, he assured me it will show utc on that screen and local time on databar only.

I keep the databar up top and it's local time. Now I see what you mean. It only shows UTC time on the status screen.

Yep, tunachick solved it for me. The time on the databar is right and the time on the status screen never changes.

Thanks Guys!!
