Default garmin temp ducer for 4212

On the boat I purchased, It has a garmin transducer (part number 010-10272-00) mounted on the stern. It seems to be a temp sensor I think. Will this integrate with the 4212?? if not, what is a good temp sensor, b/c I am using a shoot through ducer for the sounder??

If it's a little thing about the size of a quarter, rectangular shaped, then that is the temp transducer made by airmar. It will work with the Garmin 4212, provided you can get a Y adapter made up for it, and you main transcuder. Call Gem electronics: 1-843-394-3565

Have all your part #'s handy (plotter/sounder, temp ducer and regular ducer).

does is look like this:

If so, it should have a "Y" cable that the transducer plugs into and the common part of the cable plugs into the sounder module.

If not, buy it. It has worked really well for me and it is cheap (as far as boats go).

It actually looks like transom mounted transducer, just with out the paddle wheel for speed.

I kept my transom mount transducer and added the temperature sensor shown in the link on my previous post. I use the shoot thru transducer (P79) as my primary and the transom mount as a backup.

I guess you could always keep the transom mount transducer and try to splice everything (use temp from transom transducer and depth from shoot thru), but for $50 bucks is it really worth the extra headache (and you would have a spare ducer)

sorry about that, in the search box put in: 010-10225-00 or garmin temperature sensor.
