Default Temp & Speed stopped working on Furuno 600l

The temperature and speed readouts on my 600l Furuno stopped working today. What could have caused this and how do I fix it? The wire connections to the transducer and the unit look like they are fine. Is there some kind of setting which could have inadverntly got changed that needs to be reset? I don't think the triducer/speed wheel got damaged as last time I used the boat the unit worked fine and I haven't moved the boat from its slip since the last time the temp/speed readouts were working.

Any chance of borrowing one from someone and plugging it into the 600 to see if it's the xducer or the 600?

system menu 2 controls whether they are off,own (the xducer), or nema

Call Furuno and talk to one of the service tech's, They will know or talk you through the menu.

Default RE: Temp & Speed stopped working on Furuno 600l

I had the smae thing go wrong with my unit just shy of a year old. I emailed furuno, and they told me that more than likely the sensors in the thru-hull had gone bad. They recc a kit that would replace the insert in the thru-hull, and I could splice it into the transducer cable. I installed the kit as per instrux, and still no speed or temp! I emailed back to Furuno, and they said send in the unit. I sent it in, and they fixed it under warranty. Best I can tell you is to borrow a tranxducer to see if that makes any difference. I regret cutting my cable and paying $100 or so just to find out it was something else completely. Good luck.
