Default icom GPS model GP-270ML External Antenna Compatability
I have an external antenna from a previous icom GPS unit..model GP-270ML..mounted on the top of the grab rail on my Sea Hunt 202. Are these units universal...(the GPS unit was lost when sent out for repair)...would the icom antenna be compatable/fit a new Garmin unit ..like the Garmin 182, or any other manufacturers units? I've read the pros regarding external antennas and would like to use it if I can...I yield to the experts...thanks in advance...

most likely not , depending on the age of the icom, you want to go WAAS most Garmins come with antenna!!
