location of gps

Just boght a Seahunt Ultra 210. AM getting ready to put in a como plotter fishfiner. (still stuggling to choose one Lowrance HDS, Raymarien A70 D, or Garmen 4082) but next problem is what is the best place to mount in. In the console or on a bracket up top. I do not have any top on my boat. What are the advantages or disadvantage for mounting each location. Or why would I choose one location over another.
