Default Temp gage off

I have a Furuno 1934 NavNet.
The boat is about four months old. Last week, the temp started reading about 50 degrees too high; before that it worked perfectly.
I am thinking the problem is due to a bad connection somewhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
