I have a Garmin 4212 that I'm trying to get to work with the G2 Vision card that is for my area (St. Paul, MN - Inland Rivers Card) and it won't load. I've sent the same message as below to Garmin to see what their suggestions are but wanted some other insight to ease my frustration.
I recently bought a VUS036R G2 Vision Card and it won't load the maps. I have returned this card for a new on once already and I'm having the same problems with a the new one.
If I start the machine with the card it the slot the Garmin name appears - then blinks - the reappears. It is like it is looping when the card is loading.
If I put the card in after the unit is powered up then the map area turns light blue and the boat icon disappears and GPS functionality is lost.
If I go to the menu to transfer data from card and put the card in it says there is no card loaded.
The new G2 Vision cards are 2 gigs. Your 4212 won't read 2 gigs until you do the 4.0 update. Go to the Garmin site and download the 5.0 update. Once you do that your G2 Vision Chart will load right up.
