I have had this unit since 2005.
It has always had this prob. while setting at anchor at a known spot it would jump position say 200 feet back and forth and sometimes stay at the wrong position. this did not happen very often.
Now it has really gone nuts. yesterday it went jumping a mile back and forth and staying at the wrong position more than the correct position. seems to be ok while underway.
Could this be the antenna?

Have you updated your software? He'll likely suggest this. Sounds like it's either antenna or internal gremlins.
