Default HELP with Autopilot RPU80 or RPU160??

Simrad's site says to use a RPU80 for boats up to 35' and I own a 30' with twin 250's. My question is can I use RPU80 or do i need RPU160? What have you guys installed?

do what simrad recommends...in a warranty issue, you really want to have your ducks in a row with navico/simrad..

Is there some reason you'd want to use the 160? It takes more wattage to run it, which places more load on the control board. If your system is set up for an 80, go with the 80.

Default Autopilot question

Boat sizing for autopilot is nothing more than a reference guide. You need to determine what the volume of your ram is. It should have a tag on it with a make and model. Then you can use that information to chose your pump correctly. The Simrad pumps RPU80
drive a ram cylinder up to 11cubic incehs and a RPU 160 will drive up to 22 Cubic inches.
If it is a dual ram set up then it will probably be a 160 pump.
