Value of a DS500X?

It has the power cord, but not the transducer. It also has the two botton screws to mount it to a bracket, but not the bracket. A buddy has it and doesn't need it but trying to decide if its worth the hassle to chase down a bracket as I'm already considering a Garmin 545s which would give chartplotter and df.

Is it a good unit? Worth $100?
