Default Connecting a Lowrance EP-20 engine interface

I was wondering if anbody has installed an EP-20 on a Suzuki DF225? I'm wondering where the interface connetion to the engine and trim switch is made. I noticed a large white harness with many different colored wires running into it that runs into the ECU. IS this the interface connecton? If so do I need to disconnect it and attach the EP-20 connector to this? Any help would be much appreciated. Lastly how do you get the cable through the rubber gromet where the shifter cable runs through? Any tricks? Thanks
Dan

It's been a while, but there is a stray (diagnostics?) plug that the main harness connects to. You don't actually disconnect the ECU. The plug may be tucked inside the plastic box at the front of the engine.

The trim sensor, on the other hand, you actually have to unplug your existing trim gauge if you have one. I prefer the analog trim gauge so didn't hook that up to my ep-20.

As for threading the wire through... good luck, you'll need it! Just lots of patience and it goes best with a helper. An electrician's fish tape may help, don't be afraid to unhook the boat end of your rigging tube if you need to to get easier access. If you are lucky it's a 1 beer job, if you are unlucky it's a 6 pack for each of you.

My EP 20 worked ok for about a month, its very finicky....then one day I noticed my zuke was acting funny...my EP20 had shorted out and melted and in turn effected my engine. LUCKILY I unplugged the EP20 and my engine immedaitely began to perform correctly.

I've got a DF 70 with the EP 20. The main harness connection on the DF 70 is on the front center of the motor. Simply had to remove the rubber cover and plug in the EP 20.

However, I was never able to locate the trim connection on my motor. Can anyone help?

The trim connection is really easy once you remove the port side cover of each engine. There is one plug set that will exactly fit your provided plug on your ep20 harness...i did mine yesterday, but I still cant get the trim to register....
