Default Garmin 3210 transducer

Hey guys got a question. I have a Garmin 3210 and was out this weekend the transducer popped off the transom mount and was trailing the boat in the water for a few before I noticed. I reattached it and it would give me a depth reading but it just kept flashing the depth. But every once in a while it would work. I was wondering if I should go ahead and replace it or is this something that can be fixed. Also anyone have any experience with the thru hull transducers $398 is it worth it???

Sure, he asked if a through hull was worth it.

Out of ALL the electronics on a boat the ducer, in my opinion, is the most important. (Not a safety thread ie:EPIRB)
I originally had a transom mounted ducer and recently switched to a airmar B164 through hull for my furuno navnet. Wish I had gone up to a 1KW 10 years ago, could not believe what I have been missing.

Just my .02

Before putting on a transducer that may add you no benefit, I wouldn't start pondering someone recommending a 1kw. Few things that need to be known. What depths do you typically fish? If you don't find yourself in anything over 500' I would not do the B164. What type of boat do you have? If you have a pad you can mount a zero degree B117, that or go with the B60 600w tilted element which offers two deadrise angle ranges 12 and 20 degree. But if you were happy with the transom mount that just broke...why change something good? BTW...the B164 is gonna run ya in the neighborhood of $700.
