Default Cutting coax cable

I am re-working the placement of my VHF and GPS antennas on my t-top and it's compllicated to explain, but I need to cut both cables, then rejoin them to theeir respective antennas in a different location. Is there any negative effect to doing this in terms of performance, etc.? I imagine cutting the VHF (coax cable) is no big deal, but doing it to the GPS cable that leads to the GPS antenna has me concerned.

Thanks in advance.

They have quality spice kits that do a good job . . . the real good techies prefer the solder type connections . . . I used the non-solder type connectors with success . . . I did however use shrink wrap over the connection to keep everything dry . . . I'll let the pros give you better info and they probably know the part numbers by heart
