Standard Horizon HX850S can be wired to a chart plotter. The charging cradle has 3 wires that can be used to input or output NMEA information when the radio is placed in the charging cradle.
There are a number of GPS hand helds with NMEA 0183 in and out. My favorite is the Garmin 76Cx. The plug has both 12 V in and the NMEA 0183 in and out.
The Garmin "GPS 12-Map" is an oldie; and even the Garmin Geko 201 has NEMA 0183 output. I use either or both to provide the GPS data for my FUGAWI ENC program running on my HP laptop. A SR 101 provides AIS data to the same program. Neat.
