Default To piggyback my cut/not cut thread :)

What about the ethernet cable that goes to the Garmin GMR 18 HD? It comes with an extra plug and I just learned last night I can not get it passed thru a certain area when running the wire with the original plug on!! Is an ethernet plug easy to install on a bare wire??

If you've ever done any ethernet plugs (for a computer network) you'll have no problem, but its not worth the price of the tool for one or two connectors. Get someone to do it for you. Just duplicate the order of the wires in the plug you cut off. Its a two minute job. I suppose you could splice the wires with some really tiny butt splices, but you would be disrupting the "twist" part of "twisted pair" and could concievably screw up the signal.
