Lowrance HDS

Im considering getting two new lowrance units for my boat. i wanted to purchase a HDS-5x fishfinder and a HDS-7m for my gps.

-Can these units work together by simply plugging them into eachother? (for example if i wanted to mark a waypoint on the bottom using the fishfinder, will it come up on the gps also??) or do i need some sort of box also??

Also does anyone know the difference between the HDS7 and the HDS 7M?? which is better for me if i only will use it as a gps.

ok good. i think that answered my question perfectly! If im getting two units i would probably want the M then right?? so i have a fishfinder and a GPS right? i figure less things to go wrong with units that have there own purpose..
