Clarion 480M to JL Audio 7.7

Hey guys...just wondering if this clarion amp I already have in my boat, the 480M, will give me enough power to push the JL Audio 7.7. I know it isn't going to be as good as having the bigger JL amp, but will the speakers sound good with the power given by the clarion amp. Or, should I just go with a speaker that requires less power or different brand?? Thanks for any help

I am actually pretty happy with 7.7s running off a clarion head unit. Doubtless they'd be better with an external amp, but I wouldn't worry too much about getting the biggest one possible... My past experience with the 480 is that it is a good performer, should be fine.

The JL M4500 and the Clarion APX480M actually are rated to put out the same power (80 watts x 4 @ 14.4 volts into a 4 ohm load). I highly doubt you would notice a difference in a blind test between the two amps. stay with the amp you have, there is no reason to buy a new one.
