Default In Hull Transducer Mounting Question

I am looking to mount an Airmar R199 2kw tank transducer. The best location from an access and not in the way position would be 6" forward and 3" closer to the keel than my Starboard engine intake. Should there be any issues with mounting it there?
I'm thinking anything forward of the intake scoop shouldn't cause an water flow issues from the scoop and if the engine draws its water there, it is a location that should be pretty much submerged all the time.

Default Re: In Hull Transducer Mounting Question

i have a p79 mounted about a foot or so forward of the transom and about 4 inches in-front of a raw water intake. it's about 6"-8" offset from the centerline. it holds the bottom well.
