Garmin 3210 sounder question

Will I need the Garmin GSD22 to get the fishfinder mode on a 3210? Or will i be able to just plug the transducer into the back of the unit? I am trying to decide between the Garmin 3210 and the Northstar m84 (which allows me to plug the transducer directly into the unit).

Gotta have the gsd22 or the earlier version of the black box for it to work.

Put your money into the GDS-22 if you are inclined to stay with the Garmin unit. It is sooooooo much better than the earlier versions (GSD-20 and GSD-21).

Yea gotta have the GSD22 ............THE 3210 comes with 1 hookup in the back so if you paln on hooking up more devices your gonna need the GSM10 Port expander
