Simrad AP12 or 14 R autopilots?

My boat has a sterndrive engine with mechanical (cable) power steering. I would like to add an autopilot without changing out the steering cylinder, etc. I have been looking at the rotary helm models from Simrad? Does anyone have any experience with these machines?
