Trojan 6V Golf Cart Batteries for house bank - they are designed to be shaken about and have VERY heavy plates. I am a sailboat so we tend to live off of our house batteries more. I typically get the higher amp hour batteries. They are an inch taller and much heavier.

I did - and I was not pleased. A lot of hype for little performance. It seemed that it would not hold a charge as well or as long as it should. I switched it out with an odyssey - much better
Interstates for me. Had them in the Sea Craft for years. Never a problem. Bought the Regulator and it had Interstates. If it ain't broke.....don't fix it!
Any appropriately sized cheap battery that's taken care of will outlast any expensive battery that is abused. Keep it clean, keep it topped off with distilled water, keep it charged. Dont' let it freeze or discharge more than 50% (something like 12.xx volts for a wet cell) and you will get much better than the expected service life of 54 months.
