Default Furuno Navnet Radar/Chart plotter Any reccomendations?

I have been looking for a new GPS and radar. I was looking at the Furuno models. The Furuno 1824C NT Color NavNet vx2 Radar and the Furuno MFD8 Navnet 3D 8" Multifunction Display which does not include radar dome.
Does anyone know anything about these models? Boat is a 31' Ocean Master fishing will be up to 100 miles offshore.

I have the Navnet 3D 12" display and a 6kw open array. The radar is incredible. The chartplotter will be great once they release some good charts. The raster charts are ok. The vector charts are junk.

An 8" screen is a little small unless you have a stand alone fish finder. If you dont plan on splitting the screen, then it might be ok. The 12" screen sure is nice though.

Does anyone have any pictures of the displays and image quality of the 10" Navnet vx2? How much better is the newer 3d MFd8 models? Would it be worth it to spend the extra money over the vx2

It is not just the display and charting that is different with the NavNet 3D. The radar sensor it uses is the new generation "UHD" version. I have not seen the new dome array in operation but the 6kW open array I have is fantastic, a big improvement over the quite good older models especially when running in "auto" mode.

I had one of the 10" VX2 units previously and the screen is very sharp and bright, not really much different than the NN3D except of course the 10" is smaller than the MFD12. The 7" version of the VX2 is just too small to be useful in my opinion. The MFD8 is marginal as a stand-alone but if you can pay the difference, an MFD12 is the way to go.

I think the MFD8 or 12 may be out of my range. Any idea of what the MFD10 will run w/ a dome array and GPS?

A 4kW dome and an MFD8 would be around $4500 -- and MFD12 would be a little over $5K with the radar array. A 10" 1834C model of the older VX2 with a 4kW dome would be around $3800 or so, There is no MFD10 -- just 8 and 12.
