Two things....

1. Using ALL CAPS is a way to express "SHOUTING", so I would not do that.

2. Most likely you have an input voltage issue. The DSM module is probably the most voltage sensitive device on your boat. By that, I mean, if you are going to exp a "shut down issue", it will almost always start with the DSM module first. Your voltage is probably dropping below the 10.4vdc threashold. There could be a slight break in the wire, a poorly connected connector to the wire, poor connection to a terminal screw, bad battery (poor voltage), or too many devices on ONE buss bar. Make sure you put your dig volt meter on the actual connection to measure. Check all the above scenarios and report back what you find....

Hewesfisser has it EXACTLY right. But to go one step further, don't just focus on the positive side of your DC power system. You need to look at your ground (negative) side also. If your grounds are loose, or corroded, or too small a wire, etcetera, you will experience very similar symptoms.

Make sure both the positive and the negative wires are securely fastened, and your connections are good all the way back to the battery.

Amen to that. My problem was a loose (-) negative battery terminal connection. Lose the wing nuts, if you have them now and use nylock nuts tightened with a wrench.

Oh, and to reboot the DSM, if you still have issues, disconnect it from the power and reconnect after a minute.
