AP 300 is quite old and I believe not supported by Simrad for quite a while. However, if replaced by a newer ( but also out of date) AP 22 head if you can find one , I believe you may then only need a replacement software chip from Simrad tech dept to make the existing junction box compatible with the new head. I've done this replacing an AP 300PX remote with an AP 21 remote, pretty easy, but "your mileage may vary".

If you find a tech line or tech e-mail address that actually still works let me know.

Well... the good news is I just saw there is presently an AP21 ( new in box remote control head w/ cable) listed on ebay motors . Bad news... it's only listed at buy-it-now price of $800. The remote can be very handy- I use mine all the time at the lower station for trolling in the cockpit & am so glad I have that on the lower . Mine is an express but if you have a CC the only real benefit of that model would likely be temporary availability.
