Micrologin Loran Service - who? - The Hull Truth

I purchased a 1992 vintage Micrologic SuperSport Loran on Ebay. The unit looks almost new, except that it does not acquire the stations, hence it is useless. This particular unit can be operated as a handheld and has a chrome telescoping antenna. This is how I tested it on the shore in a good reception area. I can also hookup a "real" antenna, which I don't have. Before I try and get it serviced I will open it up and check the antenna connections.

In the event that I can't solve the problem, can anyone recommend a repair shop on Long Island?

BTW - I overpaid for the unit, and it was sold in "as is" condition with a claim from the land-locked seller in Texas that he had no way to know if it worked or not.

The MicroLogic Handhelds have a special first start procedure. I have the manuals (as I have one of those) I have run mine on the telescoping antenna as well as having a fixed coupler on the boat that I hook it in. Easy to use once you get the hang of it. The one that I have is also accurate. I took a reading from it as well as a SITEX loran and they were both dead nuts on together. Let me know if you need the manual(s) - I can help
