Bwp, thanks. My bad, waypoint data is cartography. I was thinking of sharing charts as cartography, but all the chart functions are.
From garmins faq's...:
Question: What kind of data will be shared when I network my GPSMAP 3000 series GPS device to one of the new network units? Answer: Currently, all of the peripheral network devices will be operated by both machines. This data includes GPS, sonar, radar, weather and NMEA devices. The user data (waypoints, routes, and tracks), charts and navigation information will not be shared between the GPS devices. Last modified on: 06/13/2007
With the two units right next to each other, the need to share waypoints is pretty small. Being able to put up weather , radar, or sonar is more important.
If I move it to the cockpit, I might miss that functionality, but I could always put a 4xxx back there.
Decisions, decisions.......
