ICOM 402 to Garmin 182 interface for DSC

I know this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it with a search.

Neither my ICOM nor Garmin instructions are very good about which wire goes where for the interface, could really use some help. Today is the only chance I will have to hook it up before I run off a ways next weekend ( I HOPE ! )

Get yourself a female rca plug. Go to radio shack if you don't have one. Find the NMEA Out wire coming from the Garmin Unit. I think it's blue. Solder it to the inner post of the rca plug. Take a piece of small gauge wire and solder it to the outer post of the rca. Now this wire goes to a ground. The ground strip on your fuse panel, or your battery ground, whatever you got. Plug the rca into your Icom and your done.
