Default Garmin Xm weather

THT, I have a Sailfish 2360 and have a Ray a65 which I NEVER should have bought becasue I cant expand it. I want to have Xm weather but definitly on a budget. Could I buy the cheap Garmin; i think its a 440 with an internal antena and be ok to flush mount it and would it work under my T Top? Also, do you think I could even see it with such a small screen on my huge console? Any other options? How about Ray getting the option on the A65?

Thanks All

Sell the A65 on the for sale board. Then bit the bullet with a Garmin 3210 bundle. Or, spend the extra for a 4212 bundle.

The 440x is the cheapest way to get satellite weather on your boat, by far. With the xm antenna it sells for $505 on line. It is a pretty small screen. The 545 is readable from within 3 or 4 feet, but is more expensive, and definately has a sharper appearing screen. This unit will cost a bit more, and can display N2K engine data if your engines provide it. For another $boatunit you could go full pop with a 3000 series chartplotter refurb (I think all the new units are gone now) but this will give you future expansion to radar and who knows what else.

But the single most important thing is to get your DSC capable VHF radio connected to any gps!

Try 35% less than new. I sold the 2010 that came on my boat in 4 hours on the for sale board.
