Re: Garmin 4208/Raython ST5000+ Heading Sensor no, ST5000+ doesn't have a nmea out, plus, since it wasn't gyro corrected to begin with (just uses a traditional fluxgate by itself), even if you added the nmea-seatalk converter box, the info wouldn't update quickly enough (needs to be 10 hz) for the MARPA to work. Save yourself the headaches, get a KVH heading sensor, and wire to one of the 4208's nmea inputs. I'm not sure if the 5000+ will freak out if it sees external heading coming back to it on nmea, so whichever nmea port you are using to send waypoint info to the pilot, go into the setup menu and make sure any of the heading sentences (HDG, HDM, and/or HDT) are turned of for that port, just to be safe. |
