Default Hooking up KVH 1000 to Garmin 4208 Radar

Need help installing heading sensor for Radar Overlay. How is this done?

The NMEA 0183 output (2 wires (=) & (-)) on the KVH go to any one of the four 0183 inputs on the 4208 (part of the main cable that the gps sensor is hooked up to. Make sure you mount the heading sensor at least 3' from you magnetic compass, and preferably low and in the center of the boat (not in the bilge).

Do you have to have a heading sensor in order to display radar overlay with the Garmin 4000 series?

yes to get it overlay correctly and use MARPA...
