| | Re: Garmin 76csx vs Garmin Colorado vs Lowrance XOG
I went with the Colorado. The price difference between it and the Garmin 76 series isn't that great once you consider the Colorado comes pre-loaded with usable maps and you have to purchase a chip on the 76 to get the same level of detail. Garmin gets your money one way or the other. I never considered the Lowrance, their expertise is sounders and fish finders not charting. Not saying they can't do it, but why not go with the company that is better at it?
I thought about the Colorado for car use, but the screen is really too small to drive and look at and you really need turn by turn instructions. You can use it for that, but it's not best suited for it. There are lots of good deals on decent auto GPS.
