Default Garmin 4208 to Furuno 585

Would anyone know what wires should I hook up from a Garmin 4208 to a Furuno 585 sounder so that I will be able to read Nav Data on the 585 sounder? Is it the yellow and green wire?
Thanks,

Don't have one handy for the 172 but the color of the wires are standard for the Garmin units. Here is how I connected my NMEA wires. The brown/gray go from my Garmin 2206 to my Furuno 620. The wo black wires on the top are extension wire from my Furuno. The purple/blue go from my Garmin to my ICOM 504.

BWP,
I am about to instal and connect the Garmin 4210 to Furuno FCV-585 and Icom IC- M602 DSC so am very interested in seeing everything in this thread but your pictures are not showing for some reason.
Are they showing for you?
Could you please resubmit these or possibly email instal details/images to me at
nbanco@bigpond.net.au

Many thanks,
Tony

Here you go you have three options (port 1, 2, or 3) for tconnecting the 585 (wiring is the same as the 620). You can then connect your ICOM to one of the two remaining ports.

Don't forget the Furuno BLUE and Green wires. They are the NMEA common for Tx/RX. The Furuno 620 and 585 won't always ground properly through their Black (negative) wire. Also make sure the NMEA Output is enabled on the Garmin. Default output is not NMEA

Thanks Tom, would you mind also showing the two pics of your NMEA connection from your Garmin 2206 to the Furuno 620.

MarineTechnician .................... the Furuno manual describes the Blue wire as TD-B and the Green as RD-A (which I take to mean transmit B-and Receive-B on the B port.......correct?) where should these two be connected to the Garmin?

Thanks guys for your help and pardon my lack of knowledge on this isue, could being an ex beancounter excuse me here?

Tony
